(written by me from memories of my being with my grandparents)
Humming Amazing Grace
Hands dusty white with flour
Wood crackling in the stove
Grandfather sitting at the table
The child peeks out, shyly grins
Safely tucked inside the folds of
Grandma's Apron.

I Remember Grandpa
I Remember Grandpa
(written by me in memory of my grandfather)
I can still remember Grandpa
Us walking hand in hand
The pride he took in what he had
The beauty of his land.
Here he had raised his family
Through toil and sweat and tears
I stand and look around me now
And hear the echoes of those years.
Just a child I may have been
But I still so clearly see
What it meant to Grandpa
And what it still means to me.
Some squander what they have
Not knowing what it means
But when I think of Grandpa
I see vividly his dreams.
So when tomorrow comes to pass
I hope my children see
The legacy my Grandpa gave
And what it meant to me.
